My September Makes and October Aims

Hello October!

September has been so busy with buying a house and applying for uni that I haven’t really had the chance to sew as much as I would like, but thought I would run through some of the projects I have been working on (I have only managed to complete a few). I am also going to tell you about my sewing and crafting aims for October!

My September Makes

The first items on my list of September makes are my Peter Rabbit fleece lined blankets, which I mentioned in my last post. I have now made a few of these, all with different colour fleece to bespoke order. I have posted a couple of pictures below – You might recognise some of these pictures from my Instagram account @boolamade. I loved making them and they are so soft! I have just been on a weekend away in Bath with my sisters and we found this lovely little fabric shop called ‘Country Threads’. I may have spent a little too much money in there… but yes…more of this lovely Peter Rabbit fabric was part of my fabric haul!

I have also been working on my Crochet Granny Square blanket. I started crocheting these squares a while ago now and the project is still ongoing. I crochet squares as I am relaxing or watching television and seem to have made quite a pile now! Lots more to go, but will be worth it when they are all sewn together.

This month I have also started a Creative Journal which I am filling with all my ideas, inspirational images, my wish lists of things to buy and try, as well as useful crafting information. I am going to do a separate blog on my creative journal but for now I thought I would just show all the bits I have collected to give my journal a bit of colour.

My Auntie Wendy held a McMillan coffee morning on Friday the 29th of September. As part of the coffee morning she organised to have stalls selling different items such as candles, clothes and cards. She asked me if I would like to have a stall to showcase some of my Boola Made products. Of course I said YES! I made these Boola Bears especially for the occasion.

My October Aims

I have just started my Part 3 architecture course at uni, so I think I might be a little over ambitious with my October aims but we shall see!

1 – I hope to finish my Tartan Skirt which I started a few months ago. The pattern pieces are cut out and ready so I am hoping to start sewing and get it finished in October. I already know the tartan isnt pattern matched, but im hoping it will still look ok and not too odd!

2- I have bought these gorgeous knitting sets from Stitch and Story who have collaborated with Sophie La Giraffe. The first set I am going to attempt is the mittens and booties, which I would like to finish in October. The second set I bought was the Hat which I would like to at least start but maybe finish in November.

3- I am hoping to add a few more pages to my Creative Journal.

4- Although it is way to early I need to start thinking about my Christmas Crafts. I have a few ideas already but would like to organise what I will be making by the end of October. If you have any christmas craft ideas which I could make please comment below! Any inspiration would be much appreciated!
