Girls Getaway

So I am lucky enough to work with my beautiful bestie Danni. Each year we go on holiday –  we have experienced Ibiza and Falaraki (Party Party). This year we decided we needed a proper girls getaway for a weekend – wine, shopping and gossip!

Luckily I have such a lovely family – my Auntie and Uncle let us stay in there holiday home for a few nights. The location is perfect – over looking a lake in the Cotswolds.

The moment you step foot in the Lower Mill Estate you relax. Its beautiful and so peaceful! The view from there house is stunning.

So the weekend consisted of drinking wine on the Friday night and relaxing (is was a much needed glass of wine). On the Saturday we got up early and went to ‘pick a pot and paint it’ in Cirencester. It is a lovely little room full of tables and paint, you get to pick which item you would like and then your free to design and paint to your hearts content.

My Heaven!

I chose to paint a flower pattern on a small jug and Danni decided on a little owl (she is a massive owl lover). It was so peaceful and the sun was shining! I may have concentrated a little too hard, but I’m a perfectionist!

After our painting session we went on a little shopping trip around Cirencester. I love all the little unique shops and the town has the best card shop – I LOVE IT.

We then went back to the estate and rode the bikes around the lakes – now I hadn’t rode a bike in years but we had such a laugh.

Then came the time to try out the boat – yes a boat! A little rowing boat. It was eventful to say the least. We were both a little clumsy and ended up rowing the boat backwards. We didn’t stay in it too long – the wobbles got the better of us!

On the Sunday we took a trip to Bourton-on-the-water. Again the sun was shining and we had the best day. We decided to be proper tourists so visited Birdland and went on the dinosaur walk – Yes we embrace our inner tourists!

Then we found the cute little model village. I felt big for once!

We walked around the village (shopping again of course) with a band playing on the green. Eating fish and chips in the sunshine, listening to music by the water – I cant think of anything better.

We did so much is such a small amount of time over that weekend but I loved every second! A little getaways is sometimes just what you needed!
