Bruno The Crochet Bear

When I was told I had a second niece on the way I knew I wanted to make something special for her to keep. At the time I had just started to learn how to crochet, so saw this as a brilliant opportunity to try out my new skills.

It took me a while to find the perfect bear to crochet –  I wanted something bright and easy to make – the answer was one of the ‘Patchwork Family’.

I decided to make ‘Bruno’ but there are many others to pick from (all of them super cute).

In the box you get instructions, crochet hook and all of the wool you need.

If you know your crochet stitches the instructions are really easy to follow. If you are a beginner I recommend Learn to Crochet Love to Crochet by Anna Wilkinson. I used it to learn my stiches and there are lots of projects through out the book that you can make too.

As you can see I marked the instructions off as I went along as you have to change colours through out the project.

Once I had made all the parts I started stitching Bruno together whilst adding stuffing to make him soft for my new baby niece.

I actually gave Bruno to my sister at her baby shower and everyone was shocked that I made him. He was easy to make and the quality of the crochet set was great! I would highly recommend using the ‘Patchwork Family’ sets… I will definitely be making more in the future!

Bruno is even pride of place with my two beautiful nieces Eliza and Matilda on the wall in my mum and dads house.
